Packers Need To Resolve Rodgers Drama

The Packers-Rodgers Saga has hit a boiling point. On draft day, a franchise-altering tidal wave hit the news sphere when reports about Aaron Rodgers wanting out of Green Bay came to light. After hearing the initial report, I wanted no part of it, but then I anxiously awaited news of Rodgers getting traded out of town. Rodgers has been the face of the Packers since the 2008 season, but it seems as though an end of an era was on the horizon.

Rodgers has been disgruntled since the Packers decided to use their 2020 first-round pick on quarterback Jordan Love. While Rodgers felt hurt by the Packers' decision to draft a player that will fill in his position down the road, it fuelled the Packers' QB towards an MVP season at the age of 37.

After the 2019 season, the front office didn't bother drafting a receiver or add weapons in their 2020 draft. It seemed, instead of trying to take the load off of ARod, more weight was thrown onto his shoulders. For years they have taken his talents for granted and have dropped the ball, improving the team around him. It's easy to see why Rodgers would want out of Green Bay.

Packers GM, Brian Gutekunst, has taken chances and signed some key free agents in his two seasons at the helm. He's helped stabilize the team, plus the hiring of Matt LaFleur has been a great move. Firing Brian Gutekunst isn't the solution. It's a power move by the QB, but both parties should be able to resolve this with everyone keeping their jobs.

In the last few seasons, Green Bay's cap situation has been a nightmare, and have had to let some of their players walk as a result. Rodgers could have followed Tom Brady's lead and taken a pay cut to help the team, but that hasn't happened, and it's hurt the Packers. It's hard to improve the team if the money is always skewed.

It's still mind-numbing how bad this situation has gotten between the two parties. The reigning MVP is taking a play out of Brett Favre's playbook. Though if Rodgers doesn't get what he wants, a retirement is possible for the baaaad man. I can't blame him, considering the Packers haven't shown their QB any respect.

The Packers aren't willing to trade Rodgers. The best-case scenario is to rebuild the relationship and go from there. Rodgers may still be holding a grudge from that botched play call from his coach against the Bucs in the NFC championship. Not having Rodgers take part in the decision shows the Packers don't look at Rodgers as a "leader". It's the same thing with the Jordan Love pick last year. Rodgers should be a part of some of the decision-making. Not having your " guy" involved in these discussions just shows how much the Packers look at Rodgers.

He is not a regular football player he is your SUPERSTAR! The Bucs kept Brady in the loop when drafting QB Kyle Trask. Last season Brady helped shape the Bucs offence and brought in some key pieces. Brady won a Superbowl for the Bucs in his first season, so why won’t the Packers listen to Rodgers?

The organization seems tone-deaf about everything surrounding their QB. Not everybody is replaceable, especially if that man is the MVP of the league and helped guide the Packers to a 13-3 record. LaFleur knows how important Rodgers is to this team and could be the biggest peacemaker in this situation.

"He’s the leader of our team. I want nothing more than to see him back in a Packer uniform. In my eyes, he’s the greatest to ever do it. I don’t care about Super Bowls or what not. But we want him back here.”

The Packers know they need to amend their relationship with Rodgers. The stupidity of this organization is driving me CRAZY! It makes my head wanna explode!

To the Packers, make Aaron Rodgers happy. This team can make another run at the Superbowl with Rodgers. There's no point starting from scratch again, not when Rodgers is playing at the level that he's at right now. The organization needed a reality check. They have made so many mistakes with Rodgers, but the Packers' QB has shown how loyal he is to the Packers.

If the Packers botch this situation, there could be a stain on the franchise that will take years to erase. It takes two to tango, however, the Packers need to take the lead to amend this situation
